Be Reel Blog: Atypical

The original Netflix series Atypical, is a family show about an autistic boy and his life struggles. The show does a fantastic job of showing what it is like to have an autistic child, and what it is like being autistic. The show lets the audience into the brain of someone that is autistic. This is a great show for families to watch for multiple reasons. One of the most notable reasons is that is can teach younger kids how to treat and handle being around an autistic person.
Looking at this show, through a subjective lens, I could say that it is a great watch. I believe that it is a great watch because the plot is entertaining. Another reason I like this show is that of how I learned and understand more about an autistic person. The show shows how a person with autism completely thinks and takes things in differently than someone without. Along with all of the education I received from watching this show, the drama in it as well keeps the audience wanting to watch more. I would recommend this to others as it is a great show.
Furthermore, looking at this show through an objective lens, it doesn't show the same result as the subjective lense. The show can easily be misunderstood. As well as some of the actions and plot can seem slightly repetitive. Because of these reasons, the show lacks important characteristics. The show is made decently, and luckily the subjective lens we look through can make up for these imperfections. Overall, Atypical is a great show from my opinion but lacks specific qualities to say it is made amazing as well. For these reasons, it is a good, bad show
