Insidious : The Last Key

Recently, I saw the newest addition to the list of Insidious films. Directed by Adam Robitel, this horror movie does a good job at creating a dark, scary feeling throughout. The film follows Lin Shaye who plays Elise, and she is a psychic who can see and talk to ghosts. The story follows her experience trying to rid the house that she grew up in of demons. As expected, this plot makes for a good amount of jump scares, and other spooky scenes. Overall, the presentation of the film is done pretty well. The special effects for the most part look pretty realistic, until the end. Towards the end they get pretty out of hand. Other than that, the way the film is shot creates for spooky moods. A lot of the film is in the dark, and the director uses a lot of different camera angles to create horror. However, at a couple points during the film, some of the side characters create some comedic relief, which I liked. As for my personal opinion on the film, I thought that while I was never really scared at any point (because I'm very tough), I could definitely see how some people could be. Overall, I was entertained throughout the film. I would give Insidious : The Last Key a good good rating.
