With regards to the most popular shows of the last century many come to the cultured viewers mind. Mickey Mouse, Betty Bop, Popeye, The Looney Toons; all of these shows are common in a viewers top ten animated show list. Recently however, Pendleton Ward, the creator of, "Adventure Time", may have etched his name into the history books with his massive hit. Adventure Time follows the misadventures of a brave and charismatic young teenager and his talking magical dog. The world they reside within is magical and the supporting characters equally magical but the show is much more than that. As the show carried on deeper story lines began to reveal themselves and the show became much less of a kids show and more of a young adults TV show. As the story progresses the audience is treated to exciting new villains, important and relevant topics, and some very satisfying twists. The voice acting from Jeremy Shada as Finn the Human and John Dimaggio as Jake the Dog is fantastic. Both actors are extremely funny but are able to find time in their lines to evoke the right emotions in the right way. Ron Pearlman even makes a few appearances as, "The Lich", and provides an extremely underrated performance as arguably one of the most perfect animated villains ever imagined. For the analytical TV watcher this show represents the metaphorical everything pizza. From non-diegetic sound of the shows soundtrack to the constant camera focus on a central shot, the show is filled to the brim with many choices of MES. Ultimately, this show has a little bit of everything for every type of TV viewer. Ward has been a consistent force within the animated world and it's time his work gets it's rightful time in the spotlight. Adventure Time is an all-time great TV show and I urge everyone to give the show a watch.
