Daily Log Blog - 3/6/18
Hello class, today in Mr. Rivers was an important day, filled with trial and error, but more success then error for many. Mr. Rivers started off the class today by welcoming everyone back from our long snowed in break. Today we discussed in class about pre-planning for podcasts, how to go about organizing our plans, assigning roles, and finding good topics to talk about within the twelve minutes we have to talk in our blogs. Some good topics to discuss are as follows, but not limited to, genre, theme, editing choices, as well as characterization and plot choices. These are some starters to help guide your podcast, as well as to help you explore and see which topics work for you, or even how you can expand upon the topics I listed. The goals of the podcasts are choices you can make as well, it's up to you as to what you want your podcasts to accomplish. Whether it be focused on the editing, theme, political aspect, as well as many other topics, all of these choices are in your hands. It is also important to assign roles for everyone within your group, so it is clear as to what you are going to be talking about, as well as making sure everyone is contributing to the podcast. This way it will ensure fair credit is given out to all members of the group, as well as ensuring a high quality within your podcast filled with different perspectives and views from your group members. Towards the end of class, we began making practice podcasts on Baby Driver using the pre-planning of sheets to help guide us. Many groups found success within these podcasts I feel, especially my own group as we were able to hit every topic we wanted to talk about, and more on top of that. Additionally, we accomplished all of our goals, as well as providing different insights on certain topics, despite the mutual agreement in most of the discussion. If you were out today, I recommend listening to some of the podcasts on classroom to help guide you, and to take note from. You can learn a lot from these podcasts, as they turned out great.
