Daily Log Blog - 3/6/18
Today in class Mr. Rivers welcomed us all back from our long weekend, then jumped right into some things we need to know for our group podcasts. He mentioned that the main goal for our class is to record our first real podcasts on Friday, but with the weather being so temperamental it may or may not get pushed back depending on if we have school on Thursday. Then he went on to explain our assignment for class today. Our main focus in class today was our Baby Driver Practice podcast and in this assignment, our groups (that we made for the podcast project) had to start by making a preproduction page. The purpose of the groups filling this out was to prepare them for the podcast when recording no one in the group is totally lost on what to say. With that being said, the preproduction page gave three bullets for the objectives of the podcast, what the group decided that they need to definitely touch upon. Then there was a personal objective section, where each person said what they wanted to personally do to benefit the podcast/conversation and how they were going to do it. Last, there was a planning section where the group basically made an outline of what they were going to be talking about, and where it would generally fall. Mr. Rivers gave us about twenty minutes to complete this, and while groups were working Mr. Rivers assigned groups places where they can record. For my class specifically, our sound check had to be done by 2:08, to then be able to start recording. Also for my group specifically the podcast was a little awkward in the beginning, but then once we got the conversation flowing it felt very natural, and I think out practice run went well. Something that we could have worked on is making specific topics than just naturally talking about them, instead of just kinda bouncing all around. I think that by making these podcasts, it is another way to get your ideas out there, and maybe talk to new people, and also see from different point of views, because that will keep people from potentially being narrow-minded. This is everything that we did in class today. Enjoy your snow day on Wednesday!!!
