How to write a blog, Judge a movie, and other creative titles

Today we went over and discussed the blogs, and how to evaluate them and write them effectively. We made sure everyone had checked their Google Mail to register for Blogger, using an email. This allowed everyone to be able to post their own blogs. After everyone got on and registered with Blogger, we began going over and discussing the blog. We discussed and Mr. Rivers showed us how to post blogs, the length requirement, the restrictions, and how we are supposed to format the blog. Mr. Rivers gave us a short guide on how to use Blogger, how to save our drafts, and how the interface works. We discussed the content and style of yesterday’s blog, and how the writing helps people. We bookmarked the actual Blogger page on our Chromebooks, to make sure we can easily access the blog page and the blogs if we are absent and whenever we might need them. After reading over the blog, we analyzed the blog based on the following criteria.
300-500 word summary for the day’s class
A specific summary of the day’s events and learning that would help students that missed class catch up a bit
An extension that extends what we learned to the world at large
A title
NOTE: Daily Log Blogs posted after 10 pm will lose 20%, blogs posed after midnight will lose 50%.
We talked about the terminology and examples that were used in yesterday’s blog, how the extension applied to the real world, how the title could be a little more creative, and how the publishing time was very good. We came up with a more creative title for the blog from yesterday. Most of the titles were some variation of the words Objective and Subjective. We began to discuss the Be Reel blog, and how we will be posting that style of blog, and basing it off of the chart of Objective Quality vs Subjective Enjoyment. We listened to the podcast describe the chart. In the blog, the outline is:
Paragraph One- Objective Evaluation: What does the film do well or poorly
Paragraph Two- Subjective Enjoyment: What did you or the audience think about all the things in paragraph one.
Then you would apply an official Be Reel rating. Afterwords, you would put up your choice on the board in the class.
There is a required two per marking period.
Spoilers are allowed.

To apply this to the real world, you can look at how to most effectively help people by writing. With the practice in these comprehensive blogs, you can practice effective writing and how to summarize information, even if the person reading it was not there when the information first was produced. The blogs allow us to practice our writing to make more effective statements, and become better writers for papers and other assignments.
