3/6/18

On Tuesday Mr.Rivers welcomed us back after snowmageddon 1.0 and started off my giving the class a sort of itinerary for the day. Rivers made it clear that the optimal outcome for the week would be to record our group podcasts by Friday but that the date would be moved if snowmageddon 2.0 arrived. Mr. Rivers then went back to his coverage of the goals for the day, being meticulous in his description. The primary goal for Tuesday was the completion of a Baby Driver podcast with our picked groups. A pre-production page was then created with the purpose of providing structure for the podcast in its entirety. The bulk of the pre-production page was three bullets used to hash out an introduction, body, and conclusion for the podcast. The other portion of the pre-production was a personal goal section where the students had to hash out what they wanted to accomplish. After all of this was completed the group filled out an outline just to make sure everything was in order. Mr. Rivers gave us about twenty minutes to complete this, and while groups were working Mr. Rivers assigned groups places where they can record. Period 5 had their soundcheck assigned for 2:08 and we were asked to work promptly and efficiently. Once the groups got to their respective locations recording began. My group went over things before recording and I'd stress for others to do this for their actual podcasts. We felt it helped eliminate awkward silences and confusion throughout the podcast. We all also had resources up on our chromebooks for quick reference. The most important thing though is to find balance between being scripted and being natural. Groups should consider making a script just in case an awkward silence arises just to avoid that entirely. Be natural in your discussions!
