No Country for Old Men 10/1/19

Today in class we finished watching the movie No Country For Old Men. We picked up the movie with Carson walking upstairs to his hotel room and Anton is seen following him. In his hotel room, Carson then tries to reason with Anton but is killed in the process when the phone rings. Anton picks up the phone and it is Llewellyn who is then told that Carla jean is going to be killed unless he cooperates. Llewellyn then calls Carla Jean and goes to meet her in El Paso ignoring the offer Anton made him to save Carla Jean.

   While Llewellyn thinks only Carla Jean is coming, the sheriff was also on his way to protect him. When the sheriff got to El Paso he sees a group of men running from the scene. He then finds Llewellyn dead and Carla Jean arrives to find her husband gone. After a bit of time, Carla Jeans mother dies. When she arrives home from the funeral, Anton is sitting in her room. He goes on to flip a coin telling her to call heads or tails to decide whether or not he will kill her. We do not see what happens but we see Anton leaving the house checking his boots for blood. He gets in a car and starts to drive away but gets into a bad car accident at a four way intersection. Getting out of the car, we can see Anton is badly injured and has a bone hanging out of his arm.

Anton goes on to pay a boy who witnessed the crash $100 for his shirt to make a sling. He is last seen limping down the street away from the cops as they show up to the crash. The movie ends with the sheriff in his kitchen talking to his wife about a dream he had. Most of us did not understand what he was taking about but we will go over it Thursday when we harkness in class.
