be reel blog #1 finding dory

In 2003, Finding nemo was released and people loved it so much. The characters were memorable and the dialogue was hilarious. People wanted a sequel bad to get another dose of this underwater hit. In 2016 we finally got what we wanted in finding dory. The film gave us exactly what we wanted. The characters were as great as they were in 2003. The cast in the two films varied however Hayden Rolence did a great job in filling the shoes of Alexander Gould. In finding dory, we finally get to learn who dory really is and how she became herself. It did a great job in helping us understand why she was like that in finding nemo. In finding nemo, we get flashbacks of when Dory was a kid and they were so cute and educational. They helped us learn how she grew up and the things she did that helped her shape herself out. For example, as a kid her mom told her to follow the shells to get back home and she used that later on in her life when she got lost. The character designs were so delightful and it attracted so many people to watch the film. However finding dory did have some flaws. Some scenes in the movie seemed to drag on for a bit which left the audience bored at points but it quickly got entertaining. An example of that would be in the zoo with the belugas. It felt like they would never get out of there and it left me anxious with a little bit of boredom.

The movie in my opinion was amazing.  The plot was action filled and kept we watching till the end. The choices I listed before helped create a enjoyable and lovely movie that will be watched for another century. The characters were so cute and lovely and they kept me smiling all the way through. Also the little jokes and references from the prequel had me laughing and making me feel reminiscent. The actors fit the characters well and it made for so good dialogue. Ellen DeGeneres being Dory in both movies made for some good times. She is lovely and she fits the role so well.   Also the flashbacks of Dory made the movie so much better, they were so cute and they made me tear up. The movie was well made and in opinion was a great kids movie that will be remembered for a long time.I would give this movie a be reel rating of good good. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves pixar movies and child movies.

  1. There's some good evaluative language in here, Logan! The emphasis on cuteness of character design and comedy in the script are great ways to objectively evaluate the movie. Your tone shows the flavor of your writing, so keep that up! There are some sloppy mistakes in here (like not capitalizing your movie title or main characters) and sometimes the information feels like it's just being rattled off. Think about how topic sentences can shape your responses to be more unified. Title should also give us a sneak peak at your review instead of just saying #1 finding dory (again--capitalize and italicize the film titles).
