March 9th

Lauren Zanetakos
period 3
3/9/18
Today in class we returned from our two-day snow vacation. We have only been in school for two days this week. Today and Tuesday. We started on a high note when it was projected on the board that our workload was shorted a little. These are the notes we took:

Date: 3/9

Objectives:
Notes: Long-Term Project Updates:
1 Be Reel Blogs (500-750 words)
3 podcast
Monday Bring Book and Headphones
Oscar Pool Winners:
Students: Ben Schultz
Staff: Mr.Rivers
(Note, Mr. Rivers isn’t going to be in class on Monday)
Pre-Production:
Revisit this document. How did you make this space useful? What lessons will you take into your REAL podcast?
Production:
Revisit this podcast (12 minutes of listening). What GOALS are accomplished? What lessons will you take into your REAL podcast?

My Pre-production Reflection:
  • The pre-production page helped our group break down what we each wanted to analyze. With that structure, we could use it as a starting point and then as the group becomes more comfortable talking the conversations became more organic.
Class Pre-production Reflection:
  • Outline by topic/focus
  • Connection (list)
  • Specific Evidence
  • Awkward Silence
    • Construct the basics
    • Return to personal goals
My Production Reflection:
  • My group need to figure out a way to talk and feed off each other but not talk over each other.
Class Production Reflection:
  • Off topic, being off topic can make the listener confused about what the podcast’s main focus is.
  • Transitions need to be clean and natural
  • Laughing is good but only if it's in moderation
With these notes in mind, each group has a better understanding of how to improve the way they organize, practice and produce their first podcast. Overall the week was very easy with all the snow but I’m very excited for this weekend because I am introducing my all time favorite movie to my group.
