Today we began class by submitting our opinion on where No Country For Old Men fit on the Be Reel scale on google classroom. Mr. Rivers then reminded everyone to submit their Harkness reflection assignment and to answer it in three separate paragraph like responses, and not just one to two sentences.
We have our summer reading essay due on Wednesday, October 23rd, late papers for this assignment will not be accepted so submit what you have on the due date. The goal of the essay is to sythnesize the book and the essay together. It is completely up to you to decide what aspect(s) of your book to analyze but the essay must include a theme. You can choose from three seperate prompts/scenarios and should write in letter format. which you can find more information on in google classroom under “#07 - SUMMER READING ESSAY.” You should make sure to avoid writing the essay book paragraph, movie paragraph; try to write the two together. It is important not to google the differences between them and just use those for your essay, you should be coming up with original differences that you find yourself.
To find your book’s movie try to check netflix, hulu, ask friends, and the library. We will next Tuesday during class to work on essay’s so you should be prepared with your book and headphones if you want to watch your movie.
