Alex Schimpf- October 16th Period 2

10-16-17
We had to come up with a topic, tone, and theme for a minor theme and for a major theme. The movie started off with the captain waking up and learning that Eve supposedly had a plant, but she lost it and pronounced broken. That is where I picked up a theme where the earth will always take care of herself with or without human interaction. That plants will start to grow and eventually will look like humans never existed. The topic was about the plant, and the tone was ecstatic that everyone would return home to earth.  We ended the class with eve and wall-e making their way to put the plant into the machine to take them back to earth.
Our next part of the blog is to connect it to the outside world. The movie Pirates of the Caribbean- curse of the black pearl is a movie about jack sparrow and how he deals with the threat of skeleton pirates. In the picture below the movie is over and it's the final scene. Once again Jack Sparrow has escaped the East Indian trading company and the British. He made it on the ship and started sailing away to whatever he or she most desires. One topic is an adventure where the Tone is in a comedic way. So the theme is Adventure is always out there, and people should just follow their heart.
Remember to start your Summer reading essays because it is due next Thursday and You probably don't want to wait until the last couple of days to write it. It is in your well being to at least get your intro done by Friday.

  1. Nice details here, Alex. Lots of really clear information about our intentions as a class and how you, as a student, can extend that learning outward. Good use of paragraphs to help you break down organization. Consider how you can start elevating the language of your blog through more sophisticated verbs and really strong details. I like the extension, but even that can go deeper. How does this text support that theme? What about Pirates gives us a sense of adventure and following the heart and so on? Little short.
