In class Mr. Rivers stated out the day by reminding the students to get their Film reviews and blogs done. Don't forget when you finish your Film blog to get a piece of paper and post it in 1 of the 4 sections based on objectively and subjectively your choice. We also continued to watch the movie Wall-E where we resumed when Eva and Wall-E are meeting the Captain on the bridge and then we ended with (Spoiler Alert) where Eva and Wall-E are trying to get the Plant back to the Captain's Deck after they get out of the Garbage Chute and more specifically as they are stopped by Security in the hallway. During this whole time we are supposed to write about a Major and Minor Topic, Theme, and Tone for each time we watch the movie, if you need more help the explanation is on google classroom this needs to be finished and handed in by Wednesday.
The theme I came up with for this session of watching the movie was "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" an example of this is when the Co-Captain is given the command of the ship and make sure that the Axium would never return to earth and the actual Captain can't stop him cause he is powerless cause of the complications with the Micro Gravity and both Eva and Wall-E can't do anything because the Co-Captain has the security robot helping him when inside. This can all relate to when a Dictatorship is produced and the people can't do anything to stop it with the Co-Captain representing the Dictatorship and the Security Robot representing the Military and Eva, Wall-E and the Captain, and the rest of the "Defective Robots" representing the rebels that try and overthrow the dictatorship.
Good details from class today and you’ve got a clear description of the end of the film. The second paragraph does talk a little bit more about what YOU are doing, but don’t forget to apply the actual extension! We keep talking about this in class-- if you don’t do the entire assignment, then you can’t get full credit. You START to get there when you mention a dictatorship at the end of the post, but your extension should be half of your post, and this extension was more like half of the last sentence of your post.
