11/30/18

Today in class we continued off of yesterday where we picked a certain thing about the movie and went into depth about that certain thing. Those areas of deeper analysis are things such as symbols, music/sound, topics, and perspective. each group picked an area and researched it in the movie. After that we made another chart, which is:

before
during
after
Determine WHERE you will look for evidence:
  • content(to be evaluated)
  • theme(to identify and evaluate)
Search for specific scenes that help you to expand and support your evaluations
Refine analyses:
  • Replace neutral language with tonal flavor
  • Clarify relationships with transitions
  • clarity/specificity
Mr. Rivers went into detail and explained everything in this chart and then we went onto google classroom where we looked on a doc full of transitions. Mr. Rivers explained when we should use these transitions and why we should replace the other words we kids usually use. Next we started to begin our paragraphs for feast, where we took everything we learned and applied it.
Our analysis of areas of deeper analysis and transitions can be applied to other thing outside be reel blogs and movie reviews, such as writing books and film. Writers and directors both have to go into deep analysis in order to create a well oiled piece. These things also help connect outside pieces almost like Easter eggs. Putting symbols in helps understand the movie or book and it hooks in the reader to search for more symbols because it can lead to a different meaning. Learning different transitions helps create a more descriptive piece. Using the same transitions gets old and it makes the writing look bland and it makes you look dumb.
