Blog Post 12/18/18- Vaughn Thomas

Today, we continued the movie with Marty stuck in 1955 trying to convince Dr. Brown that he is from the future and he invented a time travel machine. He convinces him by telling him how he hit just his head on his sink and came up with the idea of a time machine. They then watch the film from the future of the parking lot experiment. He realizes they cannot generate 1.21 gigawatts of electricity until they realize that the bell tower is going to get struck by lightning which can generate that kind of power. They then went to his parents high school to try to set up his parents because he saved his dad from getting hit by her dad’s car. Marty continuously tries to set up George with Lorraine. Marty goes to George’s house when he was sleeping in the hazmat suit and told him he was from another planet and if he doesn't ask Lorraine out to the dance, he would melt his brain. The next day he goes to Marty and they both go to the cafe to ask her out, but before he gets the chance, Biff and his crew walk in and before they get to George, Marty trips him and then punches him in the face and runs out of the cafe. Marty steals a skateboard and Biff chases him in his car. Marty avoids a big truck of manure and biff runs straight into it and gets covered. Marty and Brown keep trying to make the time machine until Lorraine walks in and asks him if he would ask her to the dance. He agrees but he come up with a plan that they will be in the car until George rips him out the car to save Marty. On the night of the dance, Dr. Sets up the plan to absorb the lightning and send Marty back.  When Marty and Lorraine arrive and park the car, she kisses him but she says it's like kissing her brother. Instead of George ripping Marty out the car, it is Biff and his crew and they take him while Biff gets in the car with Lorraine. They take him to a car and lock him in the trunk of a car but the band playing at the dance save him but not in time to save Lorraine. Instead, George goes to the car and yells for Biff to get out but he just tells him to close the door until he gets out the car to beat up George but George knocks him out and helps Lorraine. This is when we stopped watching.
  • Main culmination- The young Doc Brown agrees to help Marty get back to 1985 by using the energy from the lightning strike that was going to hit the clock tower, but he warns Marty that he must not interact with anyone but he already interacted with his parents. They look at a picture and discover that his brother is slowly fading away and if he does not change what he has done, they will all be erased.
  • Act 3 tension- Marty must overcome his father’s social problems, his mother’s love and Biff’s ill temper to bring his parents together.
