Alex Schimpf-It

I never read the book or watched the tv series. With nothing to compare IT to story-wise, I thought the movie IT was good in enjoyment and objective. What I felt that was enjoyable in the film was the idea that It was scary and comedic in the same movie. The kids were hilarious at times when you are expecting a jump scare. And When you are not planning a jump scare, the film comes along and surprises you unexpectedly. In one scene, the group of kids was confronted by the bullies. So one kid, the nerdy kid, decided to start a “Rock war,” and then he immediately got hit in the face by a rock and fell over. That was one example of the movie pulling off comedy at any time the movie producers felt like. ANother scene was the bathroom scene when something dramatic happened, and the watchers didn't get a chance to sink in the information because one of the most significant jump scares in the movie occurs straight after.
If you are looking at the movie objectively, IT also nailed it based on the story and how everything is connected.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKJmEC5ieOk)In the trailer of the film around 40 seconds in the trailer Georgy, a little kid was the first character to interact with Pennywise the clown. What the producers did well is that the trailer didn't show what happened to Georgy specifically. So it was a surprise when it did happen. The movie It also had an incredible cast. The kids in the movie acted like they were kids. They acted like they were living at the time. They made jokes according to their age. The kids in the movie objectively made the movie how it is today.

After watching the movie, I rate it as a good-good. This movie is a comedy-horror movie and deserves to be ranked as a Good-Good rating.

  1. Nice depiction of what’s going on in this film. I like the use of the trailer and the ways in which you talk about specific evidence. Nice job bringing it back to that Good-Good rating. Make sure you’re using paragraphs to organize this information so that your subjective/objective information each has its own space to exist. Next time get even MORE specific!
