Today, September 18. 2017, Mr.Rivers started the class by reminding us about the class blog and reminded us that the College Essay is due Monday September 25th, at 7am! The requirements are 400-650 words that identifies one of the prompts which you can find more information in the post on google classroom. Also Mr. Rivers reminded us that if we haven yet received an Email from Blogger and if you did not you should contact Mr Rivers ASAP. Reminder that book chats about summer reading book you chose are on Wednesday September 20th! Make sure you bring the book to the chat in either a physical or digital copy and if you need more information on where you are meeting check classroom or Mr. Rivers. Then, we briefly together refreshed what we did on Friday about using mis-en-scene to analyze film´s craft and it´s many elements and subcategories. From there, in our groups, continued to work on our mis-en-scene power points that we started on Friday. In my group today we analyzed our picture and we personally struggled with the analyzing the slides for Screen Density and the Lighting Key but we eventually figured it all out. We didn't do much as a class all together today so check in with your own group so you can see what they did today as well.
Great tone in this post, Tori. It really captures the casual conversation style of our classroom discussions. Lots of great details in here about dates and deadlines, which is especially helpful to absent students. Keep up with this great level of detail!
ReplyDeleteNow as for the second half of the assignment - don't forget the extension! That's your opportunity to show us that you're really applying our classroom discovery to the world at large. Where/how do you see mise-en-scene BEYOND the image your group examined? Where can you examine screen density and lighting beyond the zissou picture? You can update this and add the extension to get some credit, but send me an email so I know to come back and regrade.
