Part Two of Get Out
In today’s class we watched the second part of Get Out. We left off at the scene where Chris was talking to Missy after from coming in from a smoke. Chris was hypnotized and was forced to remember the past of when his mom died. He woke up thinking it was a dream, but realizing it was true. His urge to smoke a cigarette disgusted him. The next morning the party was happening. In these scenes we saw that all the white guests were dressed in higher classed more expensive clothes. Chris was wearing what it looked like to be his best set of clothes, but it wasn’t as nice as the whites clothes. This scene shows that whites are higher classed then the blacks. Til this day we still might see that white people are better dressed than the blacks, and in some instances the blacks are better dressed than the whites. The one white man asked Chris if he ever played golf and Chris said once. The man then said his favorite golfer was Tiger Woods thinking Chris liked him as well because he was black. There is many racist jokes still being thrown around in this era and a lot of stereotypes. When Chris started catching up on what was going on with the servants Jordan Peele is still able to throw in some funny dialogue. Jordan Peele has his own TV show called Key & Peele. This show is well known for the comedy and was well incorporated into the movie. Getting to the climax of the story Chris and his girlfriend went on a walk. While they were taking their glorious walk in the woods, back at the party the guests were “playing BINGO”. Roman Armitage was auctioning off Chris to his guests. As to this day people are still being auctioned off as slaves. There is still slave trafficking in many parts of the country.

Lots of good information about what we watched in class. Strong combination of specific details from the film and the observations about microaggressions and racism that we’ve been talking about as a class. Your extension is in the right direction, but you need to keep pushing beyond two sentences. Consider how that can constitute half of your actual post instead of just being a cherry on top.
