Be Real Blog- Gotham

Gotham is a TV show focused on the events prior to Batman. The show doesn't have one exact focus point, especially in season 3 (which is the one I will be discussing). There are multiple events that specify specific characters and their qualities throughout this season. It began with James Gordon (NOTE: Spoilers) who after the last season had became a private investigator. This season began really slowly and didn't have much to offer to the main story line until about half way through. Objectively not a bad decision, this slow start kept viewers interested in the story arc for just about the whole season. While the acting, CGI, and overall take on classic batman villains like cat-woman, poison ivy, and The Riddler seem better than ever before.
Although the show is far from consistent to it comic book counterpart. Because of this change in plot the show does tend catch more interest from comic book fans, subjectively not a bad decision. Even though the show does take surprising turns which in my case I wasn't always to happy about. Like moments when (last warning for spoilers) Poison Ivy had her age brought forward about seven years just so that she could get her powers if you can call them that. Personally large changes like that and how The Penguin was adjusted this season almost ruined the show for me. Overall the show wasn't bad I'd actually say I enjoyed it plenty and would put in the good good category. Even with all the changes the show still has so much more detail put into the world of Gotham the city. You can actually see the city and how terrifying it is to live in through all dark allies and seemingly constant storm lurking on top. The show personally can't be considered a batman prequel otherwise it would fail. Rather a spin off universe where the events that turn Bruce Wayne into Batman are there but just there in different way.
