Daily Log Blog 12/7 Shannon Kehoe

Our class opened up today with Mr.Rivers refreshing our minds about specific due dates and deadlines. Our Three Act Structure letter is going to be done in class on Wednesday. While we were watching Back to the Future today we saw Marty try to make his mother fall in love with George (his dad) instead of him. If Lorraine (Marty's mom) fell in love with him instead of his dad Marty and all his siblings would cease to exist. We also saw up to the beginning of Marty's trip back to 1985. We didn't see him go all the way back in time, we only saw up to where a tree branch fell on Doc's wire that was connected to the clock tower. The only way to generate enough plutonium to send Marty back is to harness the energy from a lightning bolt and have Marty drive the DeLorean underneath another wire at the precise moment so the energy from the bolt of lightning is transferred to the car. Marty also wanted to tell Doc about his death and how he got shot by the Libyans in a letter that Marty wrote that said to not open till 1985 but Doc found it before Marty left and Doc tore it up because he doesn't want to know anything about the future because it could mess up his total existence. In our letter we are going to have to analyze the progression of the three act structure of Ready Player One and Back to the Future and either do one of two things or both, we have to support or refute the progression of the three act structure. We can also learn a lesson from Back to the Future that by not knowing our future we leave mystery and destiny to take a hold of it for us.

  1. Lots of details about what we did in class
Definitely a valuable resource for anyone who wasn’t in class on the 7th
Don’t forget the extension! What/how/when/where would we use this in the world beyond our classroom?
