90 Reasons Why Podcast - 101 Dalmatians

After listening to their first podcast, I was very excited to hear the 90 Reasons Why group discuss one of the most classic Disney films, 101 Dalmatians. And I am pleased to say that they did not disappoint. Everyone in the group seemed so much more relaxed during the discussion, as they were laughing, and seemed to be having a good time when recording their podcast. They did not have any awkward dramatic pauses, which is a huge improvement from their last podcast. A huge improvement that the group made is that they were able to connect their previous episode, in which they reviewed Space Jam, to this episode, and compare the films to what they had in common. For example, they looked at color symbolism and themes that were throughout the kids films that they are reviewing. It would be great to see the group do this in the future, especially in the third and fourth episodes of their podcast, to connect all of the films together to see the similarities and differences in kid's films over the years. The best topic that the group did end up talking about was the message that the Disney film was trying to send to kids about animal cruelty. The group dived deep into the discussion that by putting such a horrible world issue into a children's film, it teaches the kids that what the main antagonist's goal is (to kill about a hundred puppies) completely wrong, and leaves the kids with a lasting impression that killing any kind of animal for sport is a villain-like quality. However, I think that the group's biggest improvement was the fact that the discussion didn't end a couple of minutes before the podcast did. In their first episode, the group went around in a circle and each talked about something about Space Jam on their own instead of it being a discussion where everybody each chipped in on their own time. At the end of the podcast however, they didn't even realize that they had reached the end of their time limit, and you could tell that there was more that the group wanted to talk about.
