How "The Prestige" Enhances Boohoo's Prestige

Today I listened to the third installation of Boohoo's podcast series called "The Prestige". In their podcast, Andre, Jhordin, and Kenneth, covered the film Insidious inside and out. They began by introducing what sets this movie apart from other films in its genre. This was good because It creates a hook because It made the film seem more interesting and fresh (and who doesn't love that). Cleverly, they followed up with a discussion of the films plot and characters. This was a smart decision because they provided necessary insight for truly understanding the film. Andre and his counterparts used their discussion of the films elements to explain why the film is scary. This group continued to deepen their discussion by mentioning elements of film such as non-diegetic audio and lighting key which really helped with reinforcing their ethos. Boohoo ended their podcast by pulling in evidence from outside sources to back their discussion. As for the end of the podcast, Boohoo could've been a little more organized about their outro, it seemed a bit rushed and unorganized. As always, Boohoo didn't disappoint in delivering a scholarly well thought out discussion on a film from the horror genre.
