Review of "An Instant Classic: Step Brothers?" By Dummo and Rice
This most recent edition of Dummo and Rice featured Ben and Jerry discussing aspects of the film Step Brothers. They started off the podcast by introducing the film and crediting the director/actors. This, similar to their last podcast, builds ethos as the audience can see that they are knowledgeable of the film. What they do different, however, is talk about how the combination of actors in the film effect the comedy. They do this by roping other films into the discussion with the same combination of actors. This adds depth to the analysis present in the podcast. Ben and Jerry maintain (for the most part) the same structure for their podcast as last week: Their favorite parts of the film are discussed, the humor in these scenes is analyzed and categorized, and they both give the film a rating. This structure works well and provides the framework for a smooth conversation. This being said, I found that Ben and Jerry wandered from time to time throughout the podcast. I look forward to the upcoming editions of Dummo and Rice as I find their dynamic is analytical and humorous in its own way.
