Thursday

Hello everyone and welcome back. I hope everyone is well. If you are reading this and you were out today basically I think you already really know what we did today. But in case you have been absent that much, or you haven't been paying attention in class (you know who you are), or simply need help with what we are currently working on in class; well your in luck because I am gonna help you based off of my knowledge of what I did in class and the discussions I have had with my table-mates of period 5. Since today is a day 1, I brought my lunch and a little snack with me to class, sat down with a blanket and listened to my podcast from last week and started evaluating. About 10 minutes into class, a substitute hands me a sign in sheet. I completely blanked. I totally forgot that Mr. Rivers would be out today and we would have a sub. But I remembered that we had to bring our headphones into class because the sub would not let us in the hallway if we did not have them. I remembered to have a fully charged Chromebook/Mac ready to listen to the podcast and type our stream of consciousness as we listened to it. If you're a slow typer like me and it looks like word vomit everywhere with no structure what-so-ever its ok.  It's not about quantity, its about quality. It's about being evaluative. But you have to be evaluative in specifics rather than just awkward silences and grammar. Here is what I personally wrote if anyone cares to read what's going on in my head:

I am cringing at the sound of my voice. Our introduction of ourselves was a little awkward. I loved Zach's introduction of the movie and what it was. I like how we all could expand a topic. For example the first topic, the music. I also love how it became controversial between some of us but didn't go crazy. However, did not like when someone said, I forget who, "I don't care.". That takes the passion right out of the whole podcast and tells listeners to get off the podcast right now because we are not passionate about it and we will bore you to death. I love how we were all controversial but at the same time could find things that we hated or loved and all agreed on it and how we took it a step further by making connections between Stephen King himself and Stanely Kubrick and the scandals Stephen King and Kubrick. I feel I was a little jittery more in this podcast than others. I had kind of an off day that day so I wasn't really on as much as I would have liked. For this week we definitely hit all of our goals that were on our preproduction page but some things got somewhat lazy. We definitely were organized. However, I was disappointed with some of the extra sounds in the background because of the Language Arts department teachers outside because I thought we were in what we thought was a somewhat soundproof room. I just do not want to lose points for that because that was kind of out of our hands. I love how we really looked at everything but in depth. However, I think we could start to structure it more. Like start with the director and the writer Stephen King, then cast, and the effects and special scenes that struck a chord with us. I think we can take this to the next level.

That is my stream of conciousness. Notice how I focused mostly on evaluative structure and organization. Thats what makes the difference and will make your podcast better. I wish you guys luck on the next podcast and can't wait to hear some of them for evaluation. Good luck planning guys. Watch your movies and show up tomorrow ready to go. Have a great day.
