Podcast Listening

Today, we listened to both a professional and student podcast. Rivers suggested a few websites for professional podcasts: The Rewatchables, Be Reel, Star WarsMinute, and Song Exploder.  d to a professional podcast on the website called The Rewatchables about the Mission Impossible films. They talked about a few aspects of the films, such as the actors (Specifically Tom Cruise), costs and profit, what made it a success, the director, etc. They went to depth about their opinions about the franchise and why they believed it was so popular. In the student, podcasts, they had a very similar format. I listened to a very well made podcast called Hank You Very Much, which featured Gianluca Bivona, Samantha Russo, Kayla Edwards, Shannon Kehoe, Jolie Graupe. Like the professional podcasts, they started out by talking a little information about the film (Cast Away), such as the profit of the film, the directors, and of course the characters (Played by Tom Hank). They also went into their opinions about the film's plot itself. One of the students gave their opinion nicely and explained why they did not agree with the plots and actions of the character in the film.

Based on these podcasts, I think I have an idea of what should be included in our own podcasts. We should give some information about the film, such as income, directors, actors and so on. We should also include some plot and talk about the cinematic choices that were made. Most of all, we need to include our opinions; what makes a podcast unique our ability to show our opinions on a topic to others and allows us to hear about things from other peoples perspectives.

P.S. We will be making our first podcasts next Friday, February 15.
