Daily Blog 1/11/18

January 11, 2018
Today in class Mr. Rivers class he started of by greeting the class hello as usual and then getting into some expectations of our senior papers. First he started by saying how we must continue to stay organized throughout this process of writing this paper. Then, he told us how the charts that were assigned at the beginning of the week, must be completed by tonight at 11:59 PM. Mr. Rivers than went into emphasizing how much we need to stay on task for the next upcoming assignment, such as working more diligently in class and if you need to work at home, than to do so. Along with working better, Mr. Rivers assigned the "Literature Review" due next Thursday. Some tips discussed about starting to write your paper is to discuss major speakers/topics/events, and ask yourself ”who is talking, and what are they talking about”. In particular, Mr, Rivers wants us to wants us to extract the central meaning of our conversation. After you can do this within your essay, you need then need to address how cinema can contribute to your topic at hand. Next Mr. Rivers went over rubric for literature review and discussed the aspects in the rubric. Lastly, we began working on our charts, or starting to draft our essays.
When listening to the lesson it made me think of the time how I was extremely unorganized and overwhelmed with my school work and sports. This is very important to stay organized at all times so you don't feel overwhelmed. I know when it comes time for lacrosse season I have to stay very organized and get everything early so i am not left behind and fail! Overall, today's lesson reinforced the need of having to stay organized and to stay on task when needed.
