Daily Blog: January 16, 2018

Today in class we continued to delve further into our research and literature reviews.
Furthermore, Mr. Rivers reminded us that our Be Reel Blogs are all due by January
24 at 11:59pm. Before giving us time to independently work, he provided us with two
student-found resources that can aid in writing the literature reviews.

Within these sources, we are provided with different explanations and viewpoints of
the key points that we must include within our reviews. The key points are outlined in
the rubric for the assignment and have been on the board for the past few days. With
that being said, we also discussed time management and the importance of it in order
to succeed with this assignment, as well as with our senior paper that we will eventually
write and complete. The literature reviews are due by Thursday night at 11:59pm.

The idea of time management relates to the real world and the transitions that we will
all be experiencing within the next few years. As college students, we will be on our own
to make decisions regarding how to spend our time--whether that may be setting time
aside for work, choosing to spend time in the library, or making sure we leave ourselves
time to sleep. Following college, many of us will also be involved in jobs whose
descriptions include completing projects and meeting deadlines without being given an
outline or suggestions as to how to manage the time needed to complete the tasks.
Personal decisions regarding when and where to do work and how to manage time
can greatly help or hinder the final project, and such decisions should be made in order
to ensure the best final product possible.
