The Greatest Showman - Tori Flynn - Be Reel MP3

If you told my 7 year old self that a decade later Troy Bolton and Wolverine would sing a duet  I wouldn't believe you.  I normally dont enjoy the musical types of movies but all of my friends at dance told me I had to go and see it. I didn't like La La Land so I was a little skeptical going in but coming out I was practically gliding across the parking lot screaming "REEEEWWWWRIIITE THE STAAAARS". However, even though almost the whole world and I loved the movie, critics had something else to say about it. Critics, like Jason Zinoman, offer a review that is the opposite of the audience's who are responding with an astonishing praise. I wonder if this is due to the fact that in the film P,T Barnum takes pity on his harshest critic who is can never find joy in any shows he goes to see. Zinoman critiques the facts that "“It’s a standard-issue holiday biopic, one that tells a story about a populist entertainer hungry for highbrow respect, the joys of showbiz and the price of ambition... His star attractions turn into a kind of chorus of eccentrics, with minimal back stories... The songs, which shift from defiant pop anthems to melodramatic ballads, do not evoke the circus, or at least not the American version. Their soupy soulfulness belongs to Cirque du Soleil more than Ringling Brothers.". This review implies that Zinoman believe this movie doesn't have a purpose and its silly, its "utter nonsense". This got me a little agitated because this movie does serve a purpose. The Greatest Showman celebrates the American Dream. It shows Barnum’s rise from the lowest class to the higher echelons of New York society. It demonstrates that anyone, no matter their background or appearance, can rise up and find success if  they use their imagination and determination. This movie puts the humanity of the world on a on a pedestal.  By creating an exhibit of the human “oddities” and “freaks”  such as the the Bearded Lady,  Siamese twins etc;. Barnum brings people out of the shadows.People who are thought to be the burdens of their families and he celebrates their uniqueness and talent. I rate this movie Good Good. If you like movies like this I would recommend Les Miserables, Jersey Boys, Dream Girls and Hairspray.
