Over this past weekend i watched ¨A Star is born¨ its been getting a lot of hype in the news and usually i´m not into seeing a chick flick but i am a huge Bradley Cooper fan and i like movies that have to do with Rock n Roll so this movie was right up my alley. believe it or not Bradley Cooper also directed and help write some of this movie. It is a remake of an older movie but he changed it up a lot.
The plot of this movie is about a Musician who is an alcoholic and a drug addict. and hes in the middle of being on tour and one night in a bar he meets a girl, the girl is played by ¨Lady Ga Ga¨ He falls in love after hearing her sing. He then asks her to join his tour with him and she accepts. the musician makes her totally famous over night and she starts to become a big star. they go through a lot of obstacles together with record company's and managers trying to change how Lady Ga Ga sings and all that. fast forwarding towards the end a little, Lady gaga wins a Grammy for best new artist and when she goes to get her reward Bradley drunkenly follows her up their and makes a fool out of the both of them and ends up peeing himself in front of everybody. Lady gaga still stays with him and he realizes that she cares too much for him and that shes tossing her whole career down the drain because of him. he goes to rehab and that´s when he finds this out in his head. She asks him to perform at one of her shows, he says yes. that night before going to the show he ends up hanging himself in the garage. Lady gaga was just crushed. the movie ends with her singing a tribute to cooper and a flashback reel that was pretty emotional.
Something that i found very cool in this movie was that their was no help on the whole soundtrack besides Bradley cooper, lady gaga and two other songwriters. and during the movie all the singing was real between the both of them. Lady gaga in an interview says her a Bradley were together one night and he started singing ¨midnight special¨ by clearance clear water and she imminently said that he was a great Singer. He then began taking singing lessons about 5 days a week and became an even better singer. He also said it was easy for him to see what needed to be changed during the shooting of this film because he directed and starred in it. and that gave him an advantage. Another fun fact is that their is a dog in the movie and the dog is actually Bradley Coopers dog. he´s only seen in about 2 or 3 scenes but i find that to be a power move from a director.
