Bohemian Rhapsody---> Queen's Legacy Lives On Forever! Fearless Lives Forever

On November 2nd, Bohemian Rhapsody hit the screens. It was directed by Bryan Singer. The screenplay and story were by Anthony McCarten and Peter Morgan. Based on the true story, Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury is played by Rami Malek. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reached unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn for Freddie, surrounded by inner darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers, and music lovers.

What was great about this movie, was the story that leads to the creation of all of Queen's biggest hits. It created the theme that a hit song can come from anywhere. For example, the musical creation of the song itself Bohemian Rhapsody. Bohemian Rhapsody was an idea that was branched off of the idea of doing something different entirely from Rock and Roll. The main way it was made different was by adding opera to the music with a rock and roll vibe. It was an idea that everyone told them would be a failure. The irony behind this is that when this song came out it became number 1 on the charts in not just the US, but the world. Then 16 years later, it was brought back and hit number 1 on the charts again and therefore proving that Queen's legacy will never die.

Before I share my thoughts on this movie I just have to say that I apologize that it has taken forever to write this blog post. However, the reason being is that this came out just last week and I really wanted to write my Be Reel Blog on this movie specifically. The wait seemed to be an eternity. But when it finally came out, everyone wanted to see this movie. You don't believe me, please refer to the picture above. If you still don't believe me, please know that when I went to see this movie the first time, I showed up over an hour early to buy tickets to see this movie and it was sold out. The next day I was smart and bought the tickets online to learn 2 hours later that day they sold out every show in the theatre again. Since Bohemian Rhapsody has come out, the film has had sold out shows every day since I have seen this movie. It has officially has been 4 days since it came out. Therefore this movie obviously has gained my rating of an extremely GOOD, GOOD movie. I have a lot to say about this movie. Mr. Rivers, I know you were debating whether or not to see this movie. I am telling you now to go see this movie as soon as possible. The reason I love this movie is that it appeals to an extremely wide audience. That's what made Queen so successful even before this movie, they knew how to involve their audience and appeal to all. For example, the song We Will Rock You, the reason Queen recorded that song was so they could give back to their audience and henceforth involve their audience in their shows. The song was made to have such a basic beat that everyone was involved. Whether those ages ranged from a 5-year-old to a 70-year-old.
