Left on the edge of our seats
Today in class, we continued to watch Get Out and we almost got to the end of it however we will finish the film on Monday in class. Mr. Rivers reminded us to continue to take notes on the political and social lens of the movie. Before we began to watch the movie in class, we were also reminded to finish our second Be Real Blog by midnight tonight and to continue reading Ready Player One. Unlike past days in class where Mr. Rivers would discuss notes with us before putting the movie, we basically had the movie put on right away due to the half day and shortened period. During the movie, Rose´s parents had their annual party where once a year all of her parents invite all of their friends over. Rose´s parents friends have discussions with Rose and her boyfriend Chris and they all go towards race eventually which makes them both pretty uncomfortable. Chris sees another African American at the party and confronts him. He happens to be the man we see in the opening scene who gets kidnapped and the confrontation between Chris and the man is pretty awkward. We also see Chris´ phone continues to be unplugged when he leaves it plugged in and he believes it is Georgina who is unplugging it because she does not want Chris and Rose to be together. Georgina confirms to Chris that she did unplug his phone and the conversation they have is very weird and Georgina seems hypnotized as she is not normal to anyone Chris has talked to. Chris attempts to take a picture of the man we saw at the beginning of the film and the man attacks Chris after he sees the flash of the camera. Chris believes he has been hypnotized and that Rose´s mom got into his head because he is having a lot of weird thoughts. Chris and Rose decide it is a good idea to leave her parents house so they begin to pack up. We stop the movie where Chris notices an open door as him and Rose are quickly getting ready to leave. Be sure to submit the be real blogs by midnight tonight and to read Ready Player One.
