In today's class, May 14th, 2018, we began by briefly going over some of portions of our narrative projects that we have yet to discuss. Mr. Rivers began the class by quickly talking about part of our press release portion of the project, the poster specifically. He pulled up our classroom page and showed us a website ( www.postermywall.com) that will allow us to create our own, free movie poster for our projects. The movie poster is part of a 50 point portion of this project. Other parts of publication and press portion include a 300-500 word press release that expands on your Netflix summary, cast list, intentions, and Netflix summary. Mr. Rivers is also having us create deadlines for ourselves for our narratives. Each student is required to have certain parts of our narrative done, of our choice, by each deadline which are each Friday for the remainder of our project (May 18, May 25, June 1, June 8). These should be completed and posted to the classroom by tonight. The remainder of our class period was spent mainly independently or in our groups working on our narrative. We were also able to work on figuring out our deadlines. Today, I chose to continue work on writing my screenplay. Im choosing to write the 15 page screenplay and so for my deadlines, I plan to have 5 pages of my screenplay completed by May 18, 10 pages of my screenplay completed by May 25, 15 pages of my screenplay completed by June 1, and the publication and press portion of my project completed by June 8. I believe that this project is able to really give perspective into the movie business and the different jobs and roles that go into creating these pieces of work. We each are getting a taste at the various roles, within areas such as the screenplay writing filming editing, press release, etc. The entire narrative project is due on June 10.
