Recently I watch The Kissing Booth. This movie is a quirky romantic. It stars Joey King as Elle, Joel Courtney as Lee, and Joel Elordi as Noah as the three main characters. he actors and actresses did an good job with their roles as Lee being the best friend that is over shadowed by his big brother, Elle being the best friend that falls for Noah, and Noah being in a sense the jock in the school, Lee's older brother, and the one that falls for Elle.
Overview:
Lee and Elle have been best friends since the day that they were born. They were born the exact same day at the exact same time. Elle and Lee have rules that they made when they were young and followed them ever since. One of the most important rules was no dating your best friend's siblings. Well that rule was hard to follow for Elle. Noah is one that gets into fights at school when he doesn't like what he sees or hears. Noah is always protecting Elle and gets into a couple fights while protecting her. You can see in the beginning of the movie the way that Elle and Noah look at each other that they would fall in love. Elle ends up getting asked out on a date by one of the football players Tuppen and stands Elle up. Tuppen later finds Elle and tells her why he stood her up, Noah told all of the guys at school not to ask out Elle. When Elle hears this news she is mad and doesn't get why Noah would tell everyone not to ask her out.
Noah and Lee's parents go out of town for a couple days, so Noah decides to throw a party. Elle ends up getting drunk and Noah saves her from doing anything worse then what she already did. Elle wakes up in Noah's bed and has his football jersey on. Noah walks into his room to grab clothes and sees Elle is finally up. She noticed that she doesn't have any pants on so she asks him to throw her the pair of shorts she sees. Noah says no, so she decides she will get them herself. Noah and Elle end up rolling around on the floor together...
Elle and Lee are the head of the dance committee and need to think of an idea for the carnival for their school. They come up with the idea of a kissing booth. While running the kissing booth Noah kisses Elle and things start to change here. Elle and Noah start to sneak around to see each other. They spend a lot of time together and are very happy, but they have to tell Lee. Elle knows that Lee isn't going to be happy that Noah and Elle are seeing each other. They make a plan that Elle will tell Lee this one night and that plan did not go as expected.
Elle is in Noah's room and kisses Noah, but while they are kissing Lee walks in. Lee is furious and storms out of the room and Elle runs after him. Lee and Elle stop talking and so does Noah and Elle. Noah leaves town for a little and Elle is upset for a while. Elle ends up going to prom with Lee and his girlfriend. While they are at prom Noah confesses his love for Elle, but Elle doesn't reciprocate. This hurts Elle and Noah. Elle comes to the realization that she loves Noah and goes to find him and tells him. The last couple weeks before Noah goes off to college they spend as much time together. Noah leaves for college and Elle is left back at home.
The theme of this movie is sometimes you can't always follow the rules when love is in the air/ follow your heart.
I suggest for anyone that doesn't like romance not to watch this movie! This movie is filled with romance and cheesy moments. I really enjoyed this movie. Everything fit into place with the editing. I will say this isn't my favorite movie, but it is up in the ranking of movies that I like. Personally these kinds of movies are things that I enjoy, because watching guys do romantic things is super cute but then in real life you see the reality that most guys are not like the movies. To be able to watch guys do nice things once in a while even if it is just in a romantic movie is nice.
