To start off class today we reviewed the importance of planning and using the time you are given wisely. We began with reviewing over our deadlines. Mr. Rivers went over the guidelines of what your deadlines should consist of. Your deadlines should be realistic and reasonable. You can not be editing your film in the last two days before the due date and you can't be writing your whole screen play in the last week. Your deadlines shouldn't be to specific, but shouldn't be too broad. We then took a look at our deadlines and looked if we could improve them. After revising our deadlines we divided into independent work and started to tackle the beginning of our deadlines.
The idea planning your time wisely to take your independent work are huge skills found in the real world. The real world is all about planning and working. With out planning something you are working on can go sideways or become prolonged. If there is no sense of direction and no plan, you will not get your work done and finished on time. The lack of planning will allow procrastination to seep in. When procrastination sets in work will not get done or be late. When you are in the real world you have responsibilities and people depending on you to finish your work. If this work doesn't get done problems begin to pile up and other people start to be affected. These skills are great have in the real world because it teachs you early on to get work done on time and allow for everything to flow smoothly.
