Daily Blog: 5/9/18 - Jesse West

Today, May 9th, Mr. Rivers began class as usual saying good morning. Following that, Mr. Rivers went into how specific choices and goals will affect the products of our screenplays. He then stated how he would like us to go back and look at what you have written so far and see how else you can reveal things to your audience. In addition to revising, we watched a “Rocket Jump Film School” video. The video was about how to reveal exposition. Then, after viewing we discussed as groups and a class. Once the discussion was finished the class went back to work on their three intention revisions. That concluded class for the day as we worked until the bell.

Today’s class reminded me of a time when I was learning electric guitar. It was the process of learning by watching how to YouTube Videos. This was similar to what we did in class because we learned how to reveal exposition properly. The internet can be an amazing resource when trying to learn new things. Another thing that I can relate to class is the revision of your work. When doing anything in life it is extremely important to revise your work. What I do this a lot with, is when revising my game play of lacrosse. I watch game film to revise what I did wrong so I can fix it in the future. Similarly to revising our work today in class. This tactic is extremely helpful when playing sports so you can improve. So, if someone is looking to get better at anything in life, you must revise your previous work and be honest with yourself so you can improve for the future.
