Daily Log Blog 5/8/18
Today's class started off as any usual one does, with Mr.Rivers wishing us a good afternoon and telling us what we were going to do in class today. Mr.Rivers explained how we should maintain a high level of specificity throughout our intentions so that as we are making our final project it is easier to accomplish those goals because there were details in those intentions that would help us tackle the elements of the project more effectively. For the rest of the period we all worked on our intentions while Mr.Rivers walked around conferencing with everyone who was ready. When Mr.Rivers came over to our table he told all of us to try to add specific elements within our intentions because that will help us to create an entertaining yet professional looking project. Some of my intentions were specific enough to be kept but some parts of them needed some work. I needed to add elements to the individual parts of the intentions to create a coherent and effective goal. As soon as your intentions were specific and revised enough Mr.Rivers stamped each part to show that he approved the intention. My partner (Jolie) and I came up with the idea to create an interview show like 60 Minutes but make it about issues that students and teachers deal with at Sparta High School. These issues won't be as dramatic or serious as a 60 Minutes it will be comedic and entertaining to watch with the addition of funny sound effects and humorous questions and/or interviews. It will almost be like an SNL spoof on 60 Minutes. By using the comedic sound effects and the humorous questions I believe that it will make the program more interesting and appealing for the viewers, especially if those viewers are seniors in high school. To connect this topic to the real world we could look at the life skills that we are going to gain by doing this project. Which would be time management, and for my project it would be interviewing skills which both could be used on a daily basis and by this project helping us hone in on those specific skills it gives us a good foundation to tackle situations in the future that require these skills to be a necessary asset.
