Be Reel - Big Mouth

So over this Christmas break, during the little free time I had, I had the pleasure of enjoying a new Netflix Original cartoon called, Big Mouth. The show was a cartoon satire type (sort of like Family Guy or The Simpsons) ran by comedian, Nick Kroll, who played one of the main characters, Nick. The show was about teens going through puberty and growing up. It was all a comedic play on how young teens learn about the other sex, and also just finding out who they are as a person. Don't let that deep thought fool you though, because this show takes a hard turn down comedy road every few seconds. The amount of times that this show has made me laugh was too many to count. I was able to finish the entire first season (which is all that is on Netlfix as of now) in just a few days and boy, do I wish there were more episodes. This show was an overall GOOD GOOD for me, as it contained all of the comedic relief needed in a show that has such a topic (which can be weird and awkward for some) and made the best of the characters in everywhere. The character development was immaculate and really fit the show through the eyes of a middle schooler going through puberty. The thematic development really puts you in the shoes of each of the characters in the show and makes it THAT much more enjoyable. Along with the comedic tone set for the show, Nick Kroll had no room for flaws. The addition to the show with the hormone monsters (monster characters that only specific characters can see in the show that express their hormones) really made the show stand out more than other cartoon comedies and made it unique. Overall, this is already a program that I have started to watch again just because of the smile that it puts on my face every time.

If you are interested in checking out this show (which I suggest that you do) here's a link to the trailer to catch a sneak peak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk_BoK0OwZs&vl=en
Just a heads up though, its very graphic (for a cartoon) and has A LOT of sexual references.
