Be Reel- Arrow

Arrow or rather what I call it Green Arrow (the actual comic book hero's name) has been a show I've watched for years now. I always tend to come back to it as well, whether that be for new episodes or to catch up on an upcoming crossover with The Flash. Just one issue with the show itself, it is objectively bad especially in the latest season (five and its finale). The show has had one big issue from season all the way till now, it can't stop going into the past. Arrow will have literally over half of an episode dedicated to how Oliver Queen became the Green Arrow. Although that is not the big issue; the show cuts itself off all the time to show these flashbacks. (Spoiler Warning) Like in season five when Oliver was captured by Prometheus and was being tortured they cut away from that moment to show a ten minute segment of when he was in the Russian mob. Objectively this is terrible story board planning.
While other parts of the show do make up for it; the consistent references to the comic book story line or the character conflicts. There are multiple moments where you can just feel a lot of empathy for characters. Despite there actions always being so heroic they seem to deal with everyday issues like relationship to family matters. The show to me is bad good. I think its subjectively good because of its epic fight scenes and constant allusions to its comic book counter part. The show spends most of its time getting you so invested in these people and ends the season with an explosion that may have just killed off everyone of the main characters except for Oliver himself. This twist was one of the most unexpected things ever and I will definitely watch the next season because of it, but all things said its not good. Objectively a show that ends a season with killing off ninety percent of the main characters just can't be considered worth the watch

  1. Tony, I agree with you in the sense that it isnt worth the watch. Initially, I loved the show, with all the mysteries surrounding his past. But the show has gotten to a point where they are just making up garbage "past plotlines", scenes that the viewer has zero investment in. The main characters have become stale, and frankly I didnt even react at the end of the season. Quality wise, they put almost no effort in, and enjoyment wise, I dont want to put effort in. Bad Bad.
