The movie Lion is a drama that came out in 2016. The movie is very well made and the acting is superb. The film is about a little boy named Saroo around 6 years old played by actor (Sunny Pawar) who was born in a small village in India with his mother and older brother. His older brother decides to take the little boy with him to the subway and ends up losing him. This boy ends up 1200 kilometers away from home not knowing where he is or where his brother is. The boy is in Bangladesh and does not know how to speak the language. He can not find his family and ends up getting adopted by an Australian family that he does not even know. The film does a very good job in transitioning from when he is a little boy to when he grows up with his fake parents who he considers his mom and dad since he could never find his way home to his biological mother. Later on Saroo goes to a party and he ends up eating something that he always wanted as a kid but could never have because he was poor. This makes him start a search for his biological mother and brother.
Subjectively i really enjoyed this movie. The beginning was slow because most of it was in Indian and subtitles but overall it was a good movie. From the time Saroo is a little boy up until he gets older the actors (Sunny Pawar and Dev Patel) do a very good job on acting. Also when he is on the search for his mother he never gives up and is determined to find her. What makes this movie so great is that it is a true story. The fact that this could happen to someone especially a little boy who is only 6 years old and ends up in Australia is a pretty big deal. The only thing that i disliked in the film is the fact that he goes from 6 to 26 in a little over 40 minutes in the movie. Overall this movie was very enjoyable to watch and i recommend it . I would rate this movie as Good-Good on the Be Reel bulletin board.
