Daily Log Blog: 11/8/17

Today in class we covered the topic of conversation. We started off the class with going over the topic of enaging in a conversation. After talking about conversation, we branched off the topic of conversation, we had to go into blogger and leave comments on one Be Reel blog from our class and one from another class. The comments had to be a substantial paragraph or two to engage in conversation about that persons blog. But instead of just agreeing and disagreeing we had to go beyond the simple, yes I agree or no I disagree. We also had to find the muance that exsits between the binaries. What this means is to find the subtle difference between the pieces. The tone of the comment had to be respectful to other classmates, while having the choice to be formal or casual. While readin through the Be Reel blogs I noticed a lot of repeats of popular shows and movies like Stranger Things. I found a lot of these posts to be very detailed and well explained. A lot of the rating on Strangers Things was good, good. And while reading through comments, I was pleased to see people adding on to the topic of the blog, rather than agreeing or disagreeing.

The topic of conversation is used everyday and is a good scholarly skill to master. Rather than agreeing or disagreeing, applying your self to a conversation makes you seem more sophisticated and conversation is something every person is going to experience in their everyday life. This idea of of going beyond agreeing and disagreeing, and finding the muance between binaries is seen in everyday politics and critiques. Everyday politicans are having conversation on what they thing is right and wrong. If people were not to apply themselfs to the conversation and were only to agree or disagree we would get nowhere. Overall conversation is a very important aspect of our day to day lives, and without it nothing would get anywhere.
