Baywatch a film that is hilarious but also very poorly made. The humor in the film is just not enough when you have to watch this film for 90 minutes. The actors that play in this film are Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario etc.
To start off with the overall plot of the film, it is about a beach led by a team of lifeguards that only have two positions open for new lifeguards. What is told throughout the film is that it is not a job it is a lifestyle to be a lifeguard for this team. The beginning of the film is led by a little bit of comedy and stupid humor. There are lines and lines of contenders for this other spot that is available. The spot is given to what is known as a guy you wouldn't want to save your life. This man actually turns out in the end to be a life saver and save the day just like in almost every comedy. In this comedy the plot is not that good and the only thing that makes you want to watch is is the movie stars that are in it. Just to get into the specifics of the film:
The first half of the film goes by in a blur as matt brody (zac Efron) is a disgraced bad boy and also an olympic swimmer, tries out for a elite team of lifeguards and is come to see that he is not liked. He is a snotty guy who thinks he is the greatest at everything and the rest of the team on Baywatch is not very found of him. He eventually makes his way to the spot on the team because he just is so good. This film makes him look like a complete jackass but in a second his cockyness is flipped around and is a good person. This film makes just about no sense and the plot is too complicated for what they were trying to show.
The bad people in this film are the drug dealers that are poisoning the beach. It's not like the police should be after them or anything, it is all in the hands of a bunch of lifeguards. Does not make a lot of sense if you ask me. Dwayne the Rock Johnson is supposed to play a tough guy who does not like just about anyone. He involves himself in business he probably shouldn't of and just about finds out why he shouldn't towards the end of the film. What makes this film even worse is how this all gets resolved. In the end of the film the police decide to actually trust the lifeguards and do something to stop the drugs on the beach. Something that should have been done a little earlier in the film.
Also what i disliked about this film, lets just say most of the film is just tiring to watch. In the beginning there is a lot of good moments but an hour and a half of it was not that enticing. In Baywatch specifically i saw a lot of moments where there wasn't much going on. It looked like added space. If you are trying to watch a film just for comedy than this is the right one but if you also want a good quality film then this film should not be on your list. Overall i would give this film a bad, bad on the chart.
