For this marking period bee real blog I chose to watch the purge. This was mainly because there is a new one coming out and people tell me they are good movies. So I chose to watch the first one with hopes to watching the next two and since I like the horror genre I was hoping to have it at least be somewhat Scary but have a lot of action in it. This movie was very enjoyable because I like the idea of the purge not because it would “cleanse” people like everyone in the movie says when they go punt purging, but because I feel like it would be a wild night as long as you stay alive. Also the movie went had a creepy vibe so the director did a good job of having the character wearing scarily creepy masks to have the characters who were purging to murder and cleanse themselves so they look like the cracked out weirdos in the typical horror movies. Also having the characters get saved at the last possible second every time they were in a sticky situation allowed for build up of suspense and relief with in seconds, which is another job well done by the director.
This movie was from my stand point and hopes and expectation was made very well and fit my expectations. The cuts that allowed for the suspense to build up when the main characters or the good guys were about to get it and then some one from earlier in the movie would come out and save them was amazing, and allowed for a mix of emotions quicker than most other movies. Also all the gun violence really fulfilled my hope that for all the action. Also the idea all the psycho purging characters wearing the creepy masks helped with the part of me that wanted to be scared during this movie. I'm happy I chose this movie and would have to give this movie the rating good good due to the reasons I listed above
