Commercial Disaster

Commercial Disaster is the biggest blockbuster short film comedy of the year about the struggle to achieve one's wildest dreams through an actor who plays parts in commercials. Don Pepino had it all set up for him in life. He worked for a big movie company and had a deal for a few million dollars to work on a movie with them. However, he got very angry at his director who would scream at Don when he kept giving him tasks that he was physically unable to do, so he stole his director's dog as payback. He got caught and was fired from the company soon after. Now, as an actor for a low budget commercial company that films low quality, local commercials, he was approached by SONY Pictures to give Don a second chance at fame and fortune. The only way he will get a part in SONY's next big film, however, is if he films one more commercial where his acting is in good quality. Will Don finally catch a break in the film industry? Or will he blow it for a second time and stay right where he is in his career?

The cast of this film is filled with people local to the film set to make the local commercial aspect of the film feel authentic and real. Ethan Pappa, who plays Don, and Justin Rhodes, who plays the cameraman/enthusiastic actor, convey perfectly how opposite their characters. These actors, being high schoolers, may make this film attract a high school/college audience. Not only that, but the way the camera cuts all the time is something that younger people are used to and they may find that appealing to see in their movies. This could possibly relate to a middle aged audience too, because Don never really achieved what he really set out to do, which was work in Hollywood again. Many middle aged people never achieved what they really set out to do in life either, but like Don in this film he's still content with the way things turned out to be. Even if this audience may not have achieved what they really thought they could, most are okay with what life actually gave them.
