I'll make it up to you is a compelling new story about a family that has been pushed to their very limits. I'll make it up to you follows the Platzman family, a small family of four who have been plagued with misfortune. The family is played by a list actors including Dacre Montgomery as Mark Platzman, Noah Schnapp as Joey Platzman, Kyle Chandler as Mr. Platzman, and Elle Fanning as Lilah Platzman. The film also includes familiar silver screen stars such as: Owen Teague as Hector Demont and Adam Driver as Mr. Brooks.   Things really start to take a turn for the worse for the family when the father who is the only source of income looses his job. This is made worse by the middle child Lilah being a cancer patient and having her final chemotherapy treatment rely on her fathers income. Thing proceed to get worse for the family when the local gang enforcer Hector Demont comes to collect money owed by the family.
Desperate for funds Mark comes to the moral realization that actions must be taken outside of the law in order for his sister to survive. Tension is built by Mark not only deciding to rob a bank but also avoid Hector who is breathing down the families neck. I'll make it up to you is not your typical heist/ action film where the characters who are committing the heist just plain greed. The characters break away from typical genre- convention stereotypes in this film by them being reasonable people at their cores. This film was made for audiences who are fans of heist/ thriller films where the perpetrators are not some super human ex-con's but everyday people who have no other course of action.
I'll make it up to you centers itself on the theme of how loved ones must preform the necessary evil when there are no other legal options. This will be seen in the film through Mark's many realizations that robbing the bank is the only logical course of action to save sister. This is done by Mark's brilliant portrayal by Dacre Montgomery who is an incredibly talented actor who is capable of diving into complex characters. I'll make it up to you is a heist film with heart, comparable to movies like; John Q and Hell or High Water and is the summer block buster for you to add to your list.
