The Flash Season 4: Could you disappoint any more?

The Flash TV show was always an interesting concept. Have a TV show about a superhero who runs super fast. That isn't an easy thing to do; you have to find a way to properly depict running around at the speed of sound and the speed of light. It's not easy to do. For the most part, the show actually has always done this pretty well. Speed is depicted pretty well. There's a relative sense of speed that is portrayed pretty well, although occasionally there are moments where the Flash running at the speed of sound or the speed of light looks exactly the same as regular super-speed. It's not half bad in terms of action.

The "soundtrack" of this series is pretty forgettable. Music is added to some scenes but it's pretty unremarkable and doesn't do anything for the scene. It's really just there to say "See, we have music!" If you're looking to this show for inspiration, DO NOT get inspiration from this show's use of non-diegetic audio. It's pitiful.

Now, as most of us know, the level of immersion in a fantasy show, especially one all about superheroes, is determined entirely by the acting of the show. Is Grant Gustin a convincing Flash actor? Yes, undoubtedly. Are the other actors very convincing and well cast? Absolutely. Keiynan Lonsdale's portrayal of the New 52 Kid Flash is well done and fitting. No, it's not the Wally West that I wish was in the show and dream about being portrayed in a live-action show, but if we're just talking about the New 52 Kid Flash, it's pretty good.

Now, you've read this far and I've done nothing except talk about how well done the show is, apart from the music, and you're looking at the title and asking: "How is this disappointing?"

One simple reason; I swear to God, I could write a better and more natural flowing script for this show. The plot in this show when it's not pertaining to some big bad villain for the entire season or involving the relationship between Iris and Barry, is absolutely awful. It's absolutely abysmal and a complete snoozefest. What is the point of having the side plot of Barry as a CSI for the Central City Police if it has absolutely nothing to do with anything in the show? It's useless, and if it's a useless idea it should be removed. This is just the beginning of useless and terrible plots in the show. It's just bad.

This is a deleted scene, but it still shows my aforementioned statement of excellent acting in the show, as well as the relatively well done lighting and scene placement.
