The Big Lebowski, directed by the Coen brothers (same directors as No Country for Old Men) is one of my all time favorite movies. However it is starkly different from No Country for Old Men and you should watch it if you want a comedy movie that will have you laughing every other line.
Objectively the movie doesn't have much in terms of suspense or plot development that matters, but what's great about it is the dialogue between characters. The directors don't use the plot to make the movie great but rather as a method to just have the characters talk about different things in funny situations. For example one of my favorite scenes of the movie takes place while they are just bowling, but dialogue makes it absolutely hilarious. The comedy can be completely unexpected from absurd situations such as one of the characters pulling a gun and screaming at another character to mark their shot zero since they crossed the line. They over dramatize normal everyday scenes and add comedy to make it great to watch.
Subjectively, I love everything about this movie. The characters are crazy and hilarious, and the absurdity of the movie makes it different then most comedies. I laughed from start to finish and quote many of lines whenever I can because they are so good. It is a truly great movie to watch when you want to forget about everything and just laugh. I love it because none of the main characters are heroes, they aren't miraculously saving they day, they are just fumbling around from one idiotic situation to another and getting themselves into trouble from dumb actions.
My final rating for The Big Lebowski is Good, Good.

I personally could not agree more with your analysis of the Big Lebowski. This movie is the epitome of a great Coen Brothers film. In my personal opinion I think it is their most successful film by a longshot. Your subjective analysis I agree with completely this movie appeals to everyone though its hilarity and its overall stupidity. However you state that objectively this movie has low suspense but i think that there is another type of suspense in this film and it is suspense though hilarity the more jokes are made the more suspense is built until the climax which is the death of the dude friend which causes the decline of the story. So i agree that this film is a good good

Has built into a lifestyle in real life yes people in fact strive to live like the dude and try to live his care free lifestyle. This just proves that this movie has truly become bigger than first believed and will truly be an all time american classic and will live on forever.so i enjoyed this movie a lot and i would rewatch this any time.
