Be Reel Blog Post - Transformers: The Last Knight

Recently, and unfortunately, I got the opportunity to see the film Transformers: The Last Knight and when I say it wasn't good... it was NOT good. The film was just another redundant re run for the series that just did not hold up to the standards of the other films in anyway. The first few films of the Transformers franchise were very exciting and entertaining to watch, and I did very much enjoy those which is why I thought it would be a good idea to give this film a try. The film had great cgi effects and did an awesome job at creating a unique atmosphere at the right time. The transformers were all well made and always gave off a mixture of emotions from seriousness and intimidation, to a sense of comedic relief. The film was overall well put together and well made, it just was not tied in very well with the rest of the serious in my opinion.

Besides the fact that the film was masked by Michael Bay's absurd amount of explosions in the most random circumstances sometimes, and were way over the top at times and took away from the film, the story had an overall good idea. The idea for the movie was definitely a good one, although it often made me question specific scenes, in which there were often holes left un patched. I frequently felt like I was asking myself the questions, okay so now what? why would they choose to do it that way? and many more questions about topics brought up in the film that just were grazed over. It also at times just got boring to watch since the it was so redundant to the series and was unnecessary.

Overall I rate this film Bad Good. The reason why, is because even though the movie was not made very well (plot wise), I do really enjoy the Transformers series. This was one of those movies that developers made just to try and make money because they know people will still come and see it. I will admit though, that I do not plan to watch this again anytime soon. It just is not worth it in my opinion.
