Daily Blog 6/4/18

Happy Monday! Today's class was anything much different than it has been the past few weeks. Mr. Rivers began the class reminding us that the due date for our project is Sunday night. SUNDAY NIGHT. That means, get it done before, well... you know what happens after prom (which is this Friday). Anyway, Mr. Rivers gave us a formal reminder about our press release and how it should be written, along with the length and your goals. Mr. Rivers posed the questions; Why should people be stoked about your Film? Who is your audience? Does the style or genre effect the way you address your audience? The overall goal is to be Persuasive instead of argumentative. The entire press release should be between 400-500 words. Other than these few reminders, we spend majority of the class working individually on our projects and asked questions as needed.

So, as for how I have been going about this process so far, goes as follows. Today I re-read my powerpoint slide. I checked to make sure that all the important actors and actresses I want to include in my slide are there (I was in fact missing one). I also read over my summary, and adjusted it to make a few changes here and there just so that it was more appealing and flows better. Afterwards, I read over my outline that I created before starting my screenplay. I made sure that what I wrote in my screenplay made sense towards the outline that I created and that the timeline made sense as well. Sometimes when writing stories, people often unintentionally get their timelines messed up. For example, the sport that my character was playing needed to match the season that the story took place in. If my main character is playing lacrosse, he can't be getting ready for the Winter Formal. So, I had to change it to the Spring Fling. Other than that, I just continued on with my story and can't wait to reveal the final outcome.
