Daily Log Blog 5/31/18

Today in class we got right to work. Of course Mr.Rivers wished us a good good afternoon and told us to get right to work. My partner, Jolie and I got a pass to the main office to conduct our first section of interviews. We interviewed Mrs.Earl and Mr.Sullivan to talk about the parking lot. We asked questions like "Do you think that there is a way to make the parking lot safer," "Do parents pose more of a traffic jam," "In your opinion, is there too many accidents in the parking lot," "What is worst form of reckless driving that you have seen thus far," "How do you think that we can make the parking lot safer?" We received answers such as, that parents cause a lot of the traffic and display various forms of reckless driving. The two interviewees also said that the amount of accidents are due to new drivers on the road. Jolie and I will be interviewing students instead of teachers now to get a real life driving experience of the parking lot. Hopefully by doing these interviews something will be done to stop reckless behavior throughout the parking lot. Our goal for this project is to include a serious yet funny tone. By using sound effects and other add ons will help us to accomplish this goal. Our film will be around 10 mins long and will include a plethora of interviews and examples of reckless and dangerous driving throughout the film. We are trying to capture a 60 minutes like tone with all the interviews but also a SNL tone by including funny and entertaining aspects. To connect this to real life we could use the lessons that we are going to be learning from this film which would be not to drive recklessly because it could cause and accident and someone to get hurt. We also could say that by doing this documentary it is a call to action for something to be done about the parking lot.
