The Fast and the Cheesy
The Fast and The Furious, popular for the exploding stunts and the fast cars, but if you ask certain people they will say two words...Paul and Walker. Paul Walker plays the main character Brian in the films, he’s the fresh face kid who would later take Hollywood by storm. He would become the face of the franchize and will later become a well known action star and car enthusiast.
Besides Paul, the other two responsible for TFTF are Rob Cohen and Mel City (directors) who built the empire that no one expected.At the time of its premiere, this film was very relevant in that drag racing and hip-hop was highly popular in the early 200’s This is the first film in a continuingly growing series. The thing to know about this movie is that you need to go into it is that these films weren’t made to teach you a lesson about your own life or as refined as most Oscar worthy movies. They were made to be “a stupid movie” but one that makes your heart raise and make you feel like a badass every time you get in your car. Because of this the Fast And the Furious franchise continues to grow and expand and earns a Good, Bad review.
This film is about a young cop who goes undercover in an illegal drag racing culture only to find that it is harder to stay professional and not let his feels get in the way of what could be the biggest bust of his career. What Brian is yet to realize is that what he thought as a one man truck jacker is a whole lot bigger than he could have ever thought. While working his way up the ranks and gaining the trust of Don Toretto's “family” he uncovers that a certain Japanese group of racers are smuggling parts in and will do anything to get the upper hand when it comes to winning street races.
The main theme within this film is the constant tug one feels when faced with a choice between family and the responsibilities of doing the right thing. The constant battle between right and fun takes a toll on Brian and may cause him to a rash decision.
